With over 20 strategies to choose from, we carefully assess and tailor our selection to suit the unique needs and characteristics of your community. Our aim is to identify the most useful and adaptable strategies that will resonate with your audience and foster meaningful connections.

Explore some of the most common strategies that we impart to our discipleship makers, each designed to empower individuals to make a lasting impact in their communities through sports and play.

We are obviously not limited to these GO strategies mentioned, but in the interest of focus and greater impact, these 3 should at least be addressed.

Awareness building and the inspiring of potential sport ministry candidates are important in this process.

Whole Life Coaching

Whole life coaching powerfully connects a simple sports activity to everyday life:

  • It is a discipling strategy to help young sports players grow into the people God wants them to be.
  • It integrates sport holistically with spiritual, social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development.
  • It teaches practical skills alongside spiritual and moral values to create coaching sessions that truly impact lives.

It is not the technical/tactical skills of the coach that impact players the most, but much rather his or her life. For the coach to be transformed and grow, he/she needs to be invested in holistically - in all areas of his/her life as well as the fourfold role of the coach - sport coach, father figure, life coach and disciple maker.

Health and Fitness (H&F)

Health and fitness is the foundation of all sport and reaches across all ages and abilities. It is a universal ministry and one which needs the gospel. Health and Fitness is the development of physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of an individual and community. We do H&F ministry through 2 key strategies:

  • Come in: inviting people to come into gyms or fitness programs run by believers or church-based ministries.
  • Go out: intentional discipleship in a secular fitness environment. E.g. gym chaplain, physiotherapist or trainer in a high-level sports club.

Kids Games

Kids Games is a sports and games partnering strategy involving fun, active learning, competitive sports, creative activities and compassion. Basically any sports ministry leader we train has the opportunity to join hands with others to disciple young people and children.

Sport and play opens up many ways to work with children who engage their natural abilities and the activities they enjoy.

In Kids Games we use games to create powerful experiences to learn from. The best learning comes when children discover things for themselves. Experiential learning is a powerful way of engaging children with the Bible outside or on a sports field.
